For someone who has spent nearly a decade under stadium lights, Jennie kept her 30th birthday refreshingly simple. The BLACKPINK singer turned 30 on Friday and marked the day with a small cake-cutting
celebration inside what looked like a plush snooker room. There was no massive crowd and no elaborate speeches. It was just candles, cake and a moment that felt personal.
Jennie shared a short video from the celebration with a caption that said it all: “thirtyyyyyy.”
Details Of The Celebration
In the clip, Jennie lights candles on a Cinnamoroll-themed cake topped with a candle shaped like the number 30. She pauses, makes a wish and breaks into a soft smile before blowing the candles out. The mood is relaxed and playful.
Fans picked up on it instantly. People took to social media to wish her on the special day. “Happiest Birthday Love! My forever num 1! BORN TO BE JENNIE HAPPY JENUARY,” one fan wrote. Another summed it up simply: “The ‘thirtyyyyyy’ explains it all… so Jennie.” “HAPPY BDAY JENNIE ASHTINE ONE CHANCE LANG,” wished another fan.
“Wish I could keep my hair done, nails done like JENNIE!” a an X post.

A Big Year For Jennie, On Her Own Terms
The birthday comes at a busy moment in Jennie’s solo journey. Earlier this year, she performed as a solo artist for the first time at the Golden Disc Awards held at Taipei Dome in Taiwan. She also picked up an award for her track Like Jennie.
In March last year, Jennie released her first full-length solo album, Ruby. The 14-track project featured collaborations with Doechii and Dominic Fike. The guest list didn’t stop there. Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis and FKJ also appeared across the album.
Then came Mantra. Released in October 2024, the single became Jennie’s first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at No. 98. It later climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Global 200.
From Blackpink debut to building OA
Jennie’s path has always tilted slightly ahead of the curve. After exiting YG Entertainment last year, she launched her own company, OA, to handle her solo work. She continues to be part of Blackpink.
Since the group’s 2016 debut, Jennie was the first member to step out solo. SOLO set the tone. You & Me, released during the BORN PINK world tour in 2023, kept that momentum going.
Thirty, by the looks of it, suits her just fine.
