Actress Huma Qureshi has opened up about the highly-anticipated film Toxic, starring Yash, which is set to release in theatres on August 26, 2026. Speaking about the film, she reassured fans that the film is very
much on track and is being shaped with great care rather than rushed to meet deadlines. She further left fans intrigued after she shared that she has watched a 9-minute cut of Toxic, and was blown away by the visuals, calling it unlike anything she has experienced before.
Huma Qureshi On Working With Yash In Toxic
While speaking with ABP Live, Huma Qureshi opened up about working with Yash in Toxic, and said her perception of the actor evolved significantly during the shoot. While she initially saw him as a hugely popular star with a massive fan base, she said that observing his work ethic firsthand gave her a deeper respect for his dedication and craft.
“I will only say this much, that after working with Yash in this film, I have genuinely become an even bigger fan of him. Earlier I used to think, yes okay, he is a massive star, he has a huge following. But when you see someone working and the way they work, the passion with which they work, I have learned a lot from him.”
She further said that the entire team, including director Geethu Mohandas, is aligned on one core idea- that the film should only release when it is fully ready and able to deliver a strong theatrical experience. “And I feel that his thinking, Geethu’s thinking, all of our thinking is the same. The film should be well made, whenever it releases. And I think the entire team is involved and work is going on day and night to make sure that when audiences come to the theatre, they get the best experience ever,” she said.
Huma Qureshi Shares Her Thoughts After Watching 9-Minute Cut Of Toxic
“And okay, I will say it. I have seen an 8–9 minute cut of Toxic. Very small. As an actor, as someone who is a part of this film, I can tell you I have never seen such visuals before,” she said.
“We recently had a dinner and all the actors were there. There was so much love at that table. Because I feel it is one such film where everyone has their own moment to shine. So there is no sense of competition at all. Everyone knows this is my space, this is my character, and in this scene I have really done well. And everyone has that moment. And Yash has really outdone himself. So I think this will be the biggest treat for Yash fans. We can only promise you that whenever it comes out—and it will come out soon—it will blow you away,” said Huma.
In April, Variety India reported that the makers of Toxic showcased a nine-minute preview at CinemaCon 2026. Although the footage has not been released to the public, it was shown to attendees at the event, reportedly generating strong excitement and curiosity among the audience.
Backed by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is slated to hit screens on 26 August, 2026. The film stars Yash in the lead role, alongside a powerful lineup of female characters, with actors like Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria playing pivotal roles.
