Ward No. 26A is one of the four sub-wards of Ward No. 26 of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC). The NMMC has a total of 41 wards spread across Navi Mumbai, representing 165 corporators. This sub-ward is reserved for OBC. Ward No. 26, to which this sub-ward belongs, has a total population of 41849, of which 3413 belong to the Scheduled Castes and 492 belong to the Scheduled Tribes.
The extent of Ward 1 of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation as published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette is as follows: Location- Nerul Sector 13, Sector 17, Sector 19, Sector 19A, Sector 21, Sector 23, Sector 25, Sector 27, Darave Village. NMU Headquarters, Sector – 32. Sector – 58, Sector – 56, 50, Killegavthan. North: From Uran Road (Amra Marg), proceed westward along the Vashi–Panvel Railway Line up to Seawoods Bridge, then westward to Gaymukh Chowk, from there, northward via Banubai Ganpat Tandel Marg up to the southern boundary of Karave Lake (Karave Park), then northeastward along Karave Link Road, skirting Karave Lake, up to Nagdevi Road, then eastward to Sanjay Vasant Joshi Chowk, from there, northward to Mata Amritamai Marg in front of Jewels of Navi Mumbai, then westward, skirting the southern edge of the water body, up to Palm Beach Road, then southward to the junction opposite TS Chanakya, and finally westward in a straight line up to the NMMC’s western boundary along Thane Creek. The last Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) elections were held on April 22, 2015, in which Nationalist Congress Party was the single largest party with 52 seats, while Shiv Sena won 38 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party secured six seats and Indian National Congress won 10 seats. Five Independent candidates were also elected as corporators in the election. The next election is scheduled to take place on 15 January 2026, with the counting of votes on 16 January 2026.
