In his recent video, Anupam Kher shares a heartfelt hug with his mother after returning home from a few days away for work. His mother gives him a box containing two T-shirts, and Anupam’s delight is evident.
During their homely conversation, a few packets accidentally fall to the ground. Anupam’s mother instinctively goes to pick them up, but he stops her and picks them himself. Annoyed, his mother snaps at him, and startled by her reaction, Anupam tosses the packets back and asks her to pick them up, and she does. Later, as his mother starts folding the shirts, Anupam tells her lovingly that he knows she can do it all, highlighting the playful and heartfelt bond they share.

‘Parents Need Not To Be Made Old And Useless’
Anupam shared his thoughts in a heartfelt caption. He wrote, “Kal bhot dinon ke baad maa se mila. Maa gale lagakar emotional ho gayi aur mujhe 2 T-shirts di. Mere hath se jab bag zameen pe gira aur jab maine use uthane se mana kiya toh maa gussa hogayi aur mujhe achi-khasi dant mili.” He reflected that parents should actually keep doing their work. It makes them feel alive and reassures them that they are physically and mentally capable. He added that children often become overprotective of their parents, but parents don’t need to be made to feel old or useless.
He concluded his caption with, “Sorry Mata! You actually are the youngest member of our family! And that is why Dulari Rocks!” Anupam’s view is indeed valid. When parents are made to feel old or incapable, they may begin to internalise that feeling which is not at all good for them.
