Filmmaker Karan Johar-backed film starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (TMMTMTTM), has been struggling to maintain a strong grip at the box office. While the movie
has been generating low numbers, Karan has penned a long note on his social media asking people to ‘stop celebrating failures.’
Taking to his Instagram, Karan Johar shared a post and captioned it “Happy 2026.” In the post, Karan shared his thoughts and questioned if grace is an alien phenomenon now, and wrote, “Have we as a race completely lost our ability to be good old-fashioned graceful? Have we lost the grace to reply to messages and emails… or if we do reply, then can we not reply in monosyllables? Use an emoji or have a ❤❤❤?”
“Are we not able to celebrate other people’s successes, and can we stop celebrating their failures? Can we praise wholeheartedly, and can we criticise without bias, anger, and rage… Can we stop making social media a dumping ground of our own failings, shortcomings, or inner darkness…,” he continued.

While further speaking about people moral policing, Karan continued, “Can we go back to just being kind at all times and not taking our own rotten mood out of the house? Are we able to practise what we preach… gyaan givers need to also be gyaan executors… Are we able to reduce our judgemental levels? You are not the moral police… look within and you will have to deal with your own questionable morality.”
“Lastly, do you have the grace to be YOU! With your flaws, rough edges, and indecisions… be YOU and acknowledge YOU for who YOU are! Let’s not bury grace… let’s revive her from the ventilator she’s been on for decades… Happy 2026,” Karan concluded.
About Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri marks the reunion of Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday after their 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh. The film also features veteran actors Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta in pivotal supporting roles.
Produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions, the film was expected to perform better at the box office, given its star cast and festive release window. However, with collections dipping sharply on weekdays, all eyes are now on whether the film can stabilise its run in the coming days or continue to struggle commercially.
