Alia Bhatt is one of the most bankable actresses in the industry, and she has an interesting lineup in 2026. The actress will be seen in YRF’s spy thriller Alpha and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War.
While fans are already very excited, it looks like Alia Bhatt is already in conversation for her next project. As per a fresh update, it has been heard that Alia will collaborate with Drishyam 2 director Abhishek Pathak.
As per a report by Variety India, Alia is taking it easy with her next project. The actress is joining hands with Pathak for a relationship drama titled Housewife. Alia will portray a housewife in a film that explores a timely, socially relevant story revolving around a married couple. The report further added that Rajkummar Rao is currently in talks to play the male lead in the film. While negotiations are on, Rao is yet to sign the film. If everything works out well, this will mark Alia and Rajkummar’s first on-screen collaboration.
Alia is also going to serve as a co-producer through her banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions, along with Abhishek Pathak’s Panorama Studios. The film is expected to go on floors in August–September 2026, once Pathak wraps up work on Drishyam 3, the final film of the Ajay Devgn–starrer Drishyam franchise.
What’s next for Alia Bhatt and Rajkummar Rao
Last seen in Vasan Bala’s jailbreak thriller Jigra, Alia has a packed slate ahead. She will be seen in a fierce, action-led avatar in Alpha, which also stars Sharvari and Bobby Deol. She is also collaborating with her Gangubai Kathiawadi director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, on Love & War. The movie also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. Additionally, Alia is also discussing several other projects to line up in 2027, including Maddock Films’ horror-comedy film Chamunda.
On the work front, Rajkummar Rao is set to star in Toaster, a quirky comedy on Netflix produced by his own banner, KAMPA Films, with Sanya Malhotra as his co-lead. He is also gearing up for a major role as public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam in a courtroom drama biopic directed by Avinash Arun. He is also reportedly doing a film with Manoj Bajpayee.
