The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday unveiled its manifesto for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, promising cash support for women, a crackdown on corruption with jail terms, implementation
of a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) within six months, and a hardline policy on infiltration if voted to power.
BJP’s Sankalp Patra was unveiled in the presence Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who said this manifesto charts a “path to bring every section of Bengal out of despair” and aligns with PM Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat”.
“Today, the Bharatiya Janata Party has just released its manifesto for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. This manifesto provides a path to overcome the deep despair prevailing across all sections of Bengal. It offers new direction for farmers facing uncertainty due to crop losses, for unemployed youth, and for women living in fear. It also gives renewed hope and confidence to every citizen concerned about Bengal’s culture and its pride,” Shah said.
A Look At BJP’s 10 Key Promises:
Releasing the manifesto, BJP outlined a mix of welfare, governance and legal reform measures.
- Crackdown on infiltration to ensure national security
- White Paper exposing 15 years of TMC corruption and breakdown of law and order
- End syndicate activities, curtailing “cut money” culture
- Ensure DA for all government employees and pensioners, implement 7th Pay Commission
- One crore new jobs and self-employment opportunities over five years and a financial aid of ₹3,000 to every unemployed youth
- Women’s safety and empowerment with women-only police battalions, Durga Surokha Squads, 33% reservation for women in state jobs
- ₹3,000 monthly financial support to women
- Include Kurmali and Rajbongshi languages in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution
- Support for rice, potato, and mango cultivation
- Legislation to implement Uniform Civil Code, strict law to stop cattle smuggling

Meanwhile, steps such as the rejuvenation of old tea gardens to strengthen Darjeeling tea branding and modernising the jute industry are among other key promises the Union Minister made to the people of Bengal.

The manifesto also promised implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana along with all central government schemes, free HPV vaccination, breast cancer screening, and AIIMS, IIT and IIM in North Bengal. It also said that a Vande Mataram museum will be established and a law to ensure freedom of religious practices.
