Big-ticket film clashes are always risky, as they split the audience between both releases. Keeping that in mind, to avoid a clash with Salman Khan’s next with director Vamshi Paidipally, the makers of
Prabhas’ Spirit are reportedly planning to move its release date. While Salman’s film, with the working title SVC63, is eyeing an Eid release, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had announced March 5 for Prabhas’ Spirit, which had set them up for a box office clash. Now, reports suggest that Vanga is planning to push the release of his film to December 1, a date that has proven lucky for him earlier.
An industry insider told Mid-Day, “Salman Khan locked Eid 2027, which will fall in early March, for his next with Nayanthara. Once that date was taken, it didn’t make sense for Spirit to arrive in the same window. Vanga’s films rely heavily on sustained buzz and clean runs. So, the delay is a calculated move, not due to production issues.”
The report further claims that the date change will not affect the shoot process of the film, with Vanga aiming to wrap the principal photography by early 2027, regardless of the new date.
The source further told the portal, “Vanga wants enough room for editing, background score, and preparing it in Hindi, Telugu, and other languages. The latest move shows that big-ticket offerings are increasingly averting clashes unless unavoidable.”
With December 1 as the reported new date for Vanga, it should be noted that the director had delivered one of his biggest hits earlier on the same date, Animal.

In the striking visual, Prabhas is seen flaunting his wounded back, stitched with multiple bandages, while Triptii Dimri calmly lights his cigarette, an image that sent social media into a frenzy.
