One of the most ambitious films in recent Hindi cinema is ready for its first big moment in the spotlight. The makers of Ramayana are planning a grand public reveal on Ram Navami, marking the first official
unveiling of the film’s characters and visual universe.
According to a report by Mid-Day, the event is scheduled to take place on March 27 at Mumbai’s iconic Gateway of India. This will be the first formal presentation related to the film and is expected to offer audiences their earliest look at the characters from the epic.
The report states that director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra have already begun sending out invitations for the ceremony. While the final guest list has not been officially confirmed, the film’s principal cast — Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravie Dubey and Yash — are expected to attend.
Sources cited in the report also suggest that several senior leaders from both the state and central government are likely to be present at the event, underlining the scale and significance being attached to the launch.
“Major Bollywood names are expected to attend. Ranbir, who plays Lord Ram, has personally invited family and close associates to the ceremony. This will be the first time that the epic’s character universe will be presented,” the source said.
Ramayana Part I is slated for a theatrical release this Diwali. The film is a retelling of the revered Hindu epic and is based on Valmiki’s Ramayan. Ranbir Kapoor essays the role of Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi plays Goddess Sita. Yash takes on the role of Ravana, Sunny Deol will be seen as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey portrays Lakshman.
