Leonardo DiCaprio’s action thriller, One Battle After Another, hit the big screens on September 26, 2025. Helmed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the film also features an ensemble cast including Sean Penn, Benicio
del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Alana Haim, among others, in significant roles. Now, the film is all set to make its digital debut in India.
One Battle After Another will premiere on JioHotstar from February 26. Recently, One Battle After Another emerged as the biggest winner at the BAFTAs. The film led the tally with six awards, including the coveted Best Film trophy. One Battle After Another marked the first collaboration between Leonardo and director Anderson.
One Battle After Another marks Paul Thomas Anderson’s first directorial project since Licorice Pizza (2021), which earned three Oscar nominations—Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay. After a sweeping victory at the BAFTAs, there are high hopes for this film.
According to IndieWire, Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming film, inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1997 novel Vineland, features Leonardo DiCaprio as a civil rights activist who joins an anti-government group to take on a dangerous white supremacist organisation.
DiCaprio’s character teams up with fellow activists played by Teyana Taylor, Regina Hall, and Alana Haim, while Sean Penn portrays the leader of the white nationalist group, joined by Shayna McHale and Wood Harris. The film also stars Chase Infiniti, who plays DiCaprio’s daughter in the story.
Last year, speaking to Pinkvilla, Leonardo shared a few details about Sean’s role in the film, saying, “Sean Penn plays Lockjaw, an arch villain who is devious and performs horrible acts. However, it is not as simple as it appears, as the actor explained, “But he brought a humanity to it, as well as an extraordinary and surprising insecurity. Sean was able to portray this deep sense of isolation as a threat to his manhood.”
He added, “In this sense, the character is far more complex than that of the typical arch villain. There are so many amazing details in his performance. I almost felt sorry for the character in a lot of ways.”
Leonardo DiCaprio has a packed slate of upcoming projects, including the highly anticipated adaptation of Devil in the White City with Martin Scorsese and the film Home. He is also set to star in another crime drama alongside Dwayne Johnson.
