Balaji Motion Pictures’ upcoming horror film Ragini 3 has officially gone on floors. Starring Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role, the film has begun its first schedule in London. It is set to release in theatres
in 2027. Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Ragini 3 takes the popular Indian horror franchise into a thrilling new chapter. Mixing scares with romance and unexpected turns, the film promises a fresh take on the genre, while keeping the franchise’s signature edge.
Tamannaah Bhatia Begins Shooting For Ragini 3
On July 15, Tamannaah Bhatia took to her Instagram stories to share a picture from the sets of Ragini 3 as she began shooting for the supernatural thriller. The photo shows her holding a clapperboard. Check out the photo below!
The London schedule marks the start of the film’s production. Additional shooting will take place over the coming months. Story details have been kept under wraps. The film is expected to continue the franchise’s mix of horror, suspense and commercial entertainment.
What We Know About Ragini 3
As per reports, the film also stars Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan and Rockstar actress Nargis Fakhri. Variety India reported that Aayush Sharma will also play a crucial role in the film. However, the cast hasn’t officially been announced.
Described as a high-concept supernatural thriller, Ragini 3 is being positioned as a “date-night horror” blending elements of suspense, humour, and scares. The film also signals a shift for the Ragini MMS franchise, which was earlier known for its erotic-horror themes. This new instalment is expected to move away from that space and focus more on supernatural storytelling.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd., Ragini 3 is currently being filmed across London, with more details about the cast and story set to be unveiled in the coming months.
The Ragini MMS franchise began in 2011 with Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala in the lead roles. It was followed by Ragini MMS 2 in 2014, which gained popularity, especially for the hit track Baby Doll featuring Sunny Leone.
