One of Bollywood’s biggest action films of 2025, War 2, created a huge buzz upon its release. Nearly a month later, the makers have officially confirmed that the film is set to make its digital debut.
Following its massive box-office clash with Coolie, the sequel to the 2019 hit War and the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, War 2 received a mixed response from audiences during its theatrical run. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting its OTT release.
War 2 OTT Release
The Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR-starrer action thriller will be streaming on Netflix, its official digital partner, as revealed in theatres. While the makers have yet to announce an official release date, the typical theatre-to-digital window of six to eight weeks suggests that fans can expect the film on the streaming platform between September 25 and October 9. An official confirmation from both Netflix and the makers is still awaited.
Plot And Cast Of War 2
War 2 follows Kabir Dhaliwal, a former top RAW agent who becomes a major threat to national security after going rogue. Major Vikram Chelapathi, a Special Units officer, is assigned the mission to stop Kabir, with whom he shares a painful past. Hrithik Roshan reprises his role as Kabir for the final time, while Jr NTR makes his official Bollywood debut as Major Vikram. The film also features Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, Anil Kapoor, and several other notable actors.
War 2 Box Office
Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 hit theatres during the Independence Day week, clashing with Rajinikanth’s Coolie. According to a Sacnilk report, War 2 opened with a domestic net collection of Rs 52 crore and entered the Rs 200 crore club within a week, amassing Rs 204.25 crore. The film wrapped up its domestic run with an estimated total of around Rs 244.29 crore across all languages, with Rs 184.99 crore coming from the Hindi version and the remainder from Tamil and Telugu versions. Worldwide, the film has crossed Rs 300 crore, with overseas collections standing at approximately Rs 71.35 crore.
