Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, lauding his contributions to national security and public welfare.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, also
a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran, turned 62 on Thursday, October 22.
In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Warm birthday greetings to Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji. His administrative understanding has ensured India’s internal security systems become more effective.”

The Prime Minister underlined that his role in turning the country ‘naxal mukt’ was particularly noteworthy.
“Particularly noteworthy are the successes in eliminating the menace of Maoism and in furthering our dream of a society free from drugs. I pray that he is blessed with a long and healthy life in service of the people”, wrote PM Modi.
According to the Union Home Ministry, India officially achieved its target of becoming Naxal-free on March 31, 2026, marking the dismantling of the Maoist insurgency that had affected parts of central and eastern India for decades.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also extended greetings to Shah on his birthday, stating that his commitment to national security and public welfare was commendable.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded Shah’s dedication to strengthen India’s internal security, while also mentioning his role in giving a new momentum to the cooperation sector.
