Bhooth Bangla OTT release: In April this year, Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla hit theatres and impressed audiences with its quirky storyline and blend of horror and comedy. The film also
featured Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal and the late actor Asrani in pivotal roles. Following a successful theatrical run, the movie is now gearing up for its digital debut, giving viewers another chance to enjoy the spooky entertainer from the comfort of their homes.
Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla will begin streaming on Netflix from June 12. The OTT platform took to social media to share an update on the same. The caption read, “Zor zor se bolke sabko dara do (side eye emoji) Bhooth Bangla mein jald entry hogi. Watch Bhooth Bangla, out 12 June, on Netflix.” Have a look:
Soon after the update was shared, fans were seen flooding the comments section. One fan wrote, “Eagerly waiting to watch it again.” Another fan wrote, “Finally wait is over.” A third fan wrote, “Chlo membership restart krne ka samay aagya.”
News18 gave 2.5 stars in its review. A part of the review read, “In flashes, Bhooth Bangla taps into a certain nostalgic absurdity, particularly in its more playful, slapstick stretches. It also has a Bhool Bhulaiyaa hangover. There’s an Aami Je Tomar-esque song capturing classical love. The interval block of Bhooth Bangla will remind you of a brand of comedy Bollywood once thrived on, but if you overstay, you’ll realise that much like yourself, the film is also struggling to not zone off.”
Bhooth Bangla marked Akshay and Priyadarshan’s reunion after a decade. The duo has worked on films like Garam Masala, Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Khatta Meetha and more. They are all set to return with another film titled, Haiwaan, a remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam hit Oppam. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan and Saiyami Kher in key roles. It will be released in theatres in August this year.
