For Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, luxury has never been about excess. It is about intention, balance, and creating spaces that allow life to breathe. Their Alibaug villa, tucked away from the chaos of
Mumbai and designed as a retreat rather than a showcase, reflects this philosophy in every detail. Long before their recent Rs 32 crore investment in the coastal town, the couple had already crafted a deeply personal sanctuary here – one that quietly redefines what high-end living looks like today.
A Thoughtful Investment In Space And Stillness
Purchased in 2022, the sprawling eight-acre plot in Alibaug was reportedly valued at Rs 19 crore. Over time, the couple invested further to transform the land into a four-bedroom villa that prioritises openness, natural materials, and emotional comfort. Rather than building for scale, the focus remained on harmony with the surroundings, with nature, and with their own lifestyle rhythms.

Architecture Rooted In ‘Raw Luxury’
Designed by global interior stylist Jasmine Jhaveri, the villa embraces what she describes as “raw luxury” – a blend of understated elegance and tactile richness. Built on a 10,000-square-foot plot by internationally acclaimed architects SAOTA, the home borrows from Californian-Konkani influences, balancing clean modern lines with earthy warmth.
Materials play a starring role. Italian marble and Turkish limestone lend quiet sophistication, while textured surfaces and neutral palettes ensure the space feels grounded rather than imposing.
Interiors That Encourage Connection
At the heart of the villa is a double-height living room flooded with natural light. A large cut-out allows sunlight to travel freely through the space, creating an atmosphere that feels calm and centred. Notably, the living area is free of a television, a conscious decision to encourage conversation, presence, and shared moments over passive entertainment.
The living and dining areas flow seamlessly into one another, anchored by a six-seater dining table designed for unhurried meals and intimate gatherings. Despite its minimal aesthetic, the home is fully tech-enabled, with smart automation allowing lighting, temperature, and other functions to be controlled effortlessly.
Where Indoors Meet Outdoors
Step outside, and the villa opens into a tranquil outdoor zone complete with a swimming pool, lounge seating, and an alfresco dining space. It’s here with a coffee in hand, surrounded by greenery, that Virat Kohli reportedly begins his mornings. The bedrooms continue the home’s design language: modern, minimal, and deeply restful.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s Alibaug villa isn’t about opulence that demands attention. It’s about creating a refuge that restores. In an era where luxury homes often compete to impress, theirs stands out for doing the opposite by offering quiet, clarity, and a rare sense of peace.
