The recently unveiled title glimpse of Dhanush’s upcoming film OM has sparked discussions online, with several social media users drawing comparisons between the project and Allu Arjun’s blockbuster franchise
Pushpa. The title reveal introduced audiences to Dhanush in an intense avatar, portraying what appeared to be a forest brigand. The glimpse also included visuals of red sandalwood, a detail that immediately reminded many viewers of Pushpa, which heavily revolved around the smuggling of red sandalwood. The director was asked about the same, and he had an interesting answer.
123 Telugu quoted director Rajkumar Periasamy reacting to the comparison and said, “We have just shown a scene from the film. OM has many elements. Once you see the film, they will be justified. Everyone will have a different perspective from the title teaser. We released it just to create discussion.”
OM Announced With Intense First Glimpse, Release Date Out
Taking to his Instagram handle, Dhanush shared the first glimpse video and announced the release date too. The video opens with a group of men in a forest surrounded by five gunmen. They are crying and asking to spare them. Then suddenly Dhanush comes as their saviour. He fights with them. The glimpse hints at an intense action drama, and the movie will be released in two parts. The first installment is titled OM Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood, and it will be released on October 16, 2026.
In January, Dhanush officially announced his next film, tentatively titled D55, and the news has left fans excited. The makers took to social media to confirm that the film will be directed by Amaran director Rajkumar Periasamy. Along with the announcement, Dhanush’s photo, along with team, was also shared.
