As the Indian premiere of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey continues to make waves on social media, Hollywood star Tom Holland’s choice of accommodation is attracting almost as much attention as the film
itself. The Spider-Man and now The Odyssey actor reportedly checked into the iconic Taj Mahal Palace overlooking the Gateway of India, where he is said to have stayed in the legendary Tata Suite, one of the most exclusive hotel accommodations in the country.
The Tata Suite is more than just the hotel’s finest room. It is a tribute to Sir Jamsetji Tata, the visionary founder behind the Taj Hotels, and has long represented the brand’s legacy of luxury, hospitality and Indian craftsmanship. Designed to celebrate art and heritage, every corner of the suite features handcrafted décor, museum-worthy antiques, elegant furnishings and artworks inspired by India’s rich cultural traditions.
What truly sets the suite apart is its extraordinary scale. Spanning nearly 465 square metres, it was created by combining around 16 standard hotel rooms into one expansive residence. Guests are welcomed into two lavish bedrooms, an opulent living room, a formal dining area, a private office, a lounge, a boardroom capable of hosting up to 15 people, a butler’s pantry, a personal spa and sauna, and even a fully equipped gym.
Naturally, luxury of this calibre comes with an equally impressive price tag. A single night’s stay in the Tata Suite reportedly ranges between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 12 lakh, depending on the season and availability, making it one of the most expensive hotel suites in India.
Its guest list reads like a who’s who of global politics, royalty and entertainment. Since opening in 2010, the suite has welcomed former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni, former US Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
Hollywood royalty has also made the Taj Mahal Palace a preferred address during visits to Mumbai. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have stayed here, alongside Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, supermodel Naomi Campbell, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg and music legend John Lennon. The hotel has long been synonymous with discreet luxury and world-class hospitality, making it a natural choice for international celebrities.
