Kiara Advani is gearing up for her upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups, with Yash. Toxic is touted as Kiara’s boldest film yet, and the recently released assets have only increased the anticipation
surrounding the film. Now, in a recent chat, Kiara has opened up about why she said yes to being a part of Toxic.
Kiara Advani told Femina, “When I heard the narration, I was mesmerised by how well fleshed out this character was, all the meat an actor longs for. I felt I had reached a place in my career where I was confident enough to take on such a character.” While her character details are under wraps, her bold scenes as Nadia with Yash have caught everyone’s attention.
In the same chat, Kiara also reflected on not being boxed as an actor. She said, “I don’t like stereotyping women in a box. We are so much more than that, so why shouldn’t our characters be?” She mentioned that female characters should be strong, realistic and complex. This could potentially be a hint at her upcoming character in Toxic.
Last year, when Kiara’s character poster was unveiled, she wrote on Instagram, “A role that demanded more from me – physically, mentally, emotionally and felt nothing short of transformative. My toughest one yet. Months of hard work. One fearless leap. To see this first look receive so much love means everything. Grateful beyond words.”
Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has been filmed simultaneously in English and Kannada, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and several other languages, underscoring its global ambition.
Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is slated for a grand theatrical release on the long festive weekend of 19 March 2026, coinciding with Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa. Apart from Yash and Kiara, the film also stars Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Tovino Thomas, and others.
