In 2025, Ganesh Chaturthi festivities will commence on Wednesday, August 27 and conclude with Ganesh Visarjan on Saturday, September 6.
Pune shares a unique bond with this festival, thanks to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, who, in 1893, transformed it into a grand public celebration.

The temple, standing strong for over a century, is both simple and beautiful. Managed by the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Trust, the temple also carries out extensive charitable work with the donations it receives. Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati
Unlike the usual serene depictions of Lord Ganesha, this temple features a striking idol of Ganpati slaying a demon. The Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati is historically significant as the first Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal and India’s oldest public Ganesh Utsav. It was founded by Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari, a royal physician and freedom fighter, who brought the idea of community Ganesh celebrations from Gwalior. Shri Kasba Ganpati
Known as the gram daivat (patron deity) of Pune, Shri Kasba Ganpati holds immense religious importance. It is believed that Jijabai Bhosale, mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, established the temple, and Shivaji himself never set out for battle without seeking blessings here. Tambdi Jogeshwari Ganpati
