As the cancellation of the Naini coal block tender continues to trigger political tremors in the state, Kalvakuntla Kavitha made a series of explosive remarks, launching a scathing attack on former minister
Harish Rao.
She accused him of indulging in deceptive politics, likening his conduct to that of a “cunning fox,” and mocked KTR for holding press conferences blindly at Harish Rao’s behest.
Kavitha alleged that while the leadership pretends to catch a “small fish,” it is actually protecting the “real whale” behind the scam.
She claimed that Srujan Reddy is being used merely as a pawn to shield Mega Krishna Reddy, with the entire narrative being spun around him for political convenience.
Kavitha further charged Harish Rao with playing manipulative political games, holding him responsible for the party landing in its current crisis.
She asserted that all the drama surrounding the Naini coal block issue is aimed solely at safeguarding the real masterminds behind the deal. Warning that people are closely watching these developments, she accused the leadership of risking the party’s future for narrow personal interests.
Strongly condemning the party’s approach towards women officers, Kavitha recalled a past incident where attacks were carried out against a television channel for airing critical stories about KTR.
However, she expressed outrage that when objectionable and demeaning reports surfaced targeting women IAS officers holding responsible positions, there was not even a word of protest from the party leadership. Is this the respect accorded to women? she asked pointedly.
Speaking to the media at the Telangana Jagruti office in Banjara Hills, Kavitha openly criticised the BRS leadership’s attitude.
In light of the prevailing political situation, she announced that Telangana Jagruti would soon be transformed into a full-fledged political party. Expressing confidence, she declared that the party she would establish in the future would inevitably come to power.
Kavitha alleged that leaders like KTR and Harish Rao react only when their personal image is tarnished or when they themselves are attacked, but maintain a deafening silence on issues concerning women’s dignity.
She pointed out that when reports insulting women IAS officers were published, the party failed to issue even a basic condemnation, calling this silence a clear reflection of hollow leadership. She cautioned that orchestrating attacks against those who oppose them, while remaining mute on issues involving women, is unacceptable.
According to Kavitha, such incidents raise serious doubts about the party’s true commitment towards women. She questioned why those who once justified attacks on a media channel in KTR’s case, are now choosing silence.
From the Telangana Jagruti platform, she asserted that an uncompromising fight would be launched for women’s rights and self-respect. She stressed the need for women to be given rightful space and dignity in politics, warning that in the coming days, the movement would intensify its fight on public issues—especially those related to women’s safety and respect.
