Delhi-NCR woke up to incessant rains on Thursday. While it provides respite from the scorching heat and humidity, several areas are waterlogged. As per the latest weather update, India Meteorological Department
(IMD) has issued a red alert for a few regions in the national capital.
News agency ANI shared visuals of heavy downpour in the morning at RK Puram Sector 10.
Waterlogging in Delhi NCR
As the rain continues, several regions of Delhi NCR are witnessing waterlogging. In Delhi, areas near Zakir Hussain College is waterlogged, though water pumps have been installed to drain the water, but area remains jammed.
Morning rain in Gurugram has led to severe waterlogging in several parts of the city. Areas including Mata Road, Sector 14, 17, 22, 23, 4, 7, 9, 10, and the bus stand vicinity have been heavily affected.

Delhi Rains: IMD Forecast
“Light to moderate rainfall at most places with moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated places over Delhi and NCR during next 2-3 hours,” the IMD stated in a bulletin on Thursday morning.

Current temperature is at around 27 degree celsius. According to IMD, the minimum temperature will remain from 24-26 degree celsius to maximum 32-34 degree celsius for today.
Furthermore, IMD’s weather bulletin has predicted heavy rainfall on August 14 in several other states of the country. “Heavy Rainfall very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Bihar, East Rajasthan, East Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Punjab, Rayalaseema, Sub Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and West Madhya Pradesh,” IMD predicted.
Noida, Ghaziabad Schools To Remain Closed From Today
Schools in Noida and Ghaziabad are observing an extended holiday starting today, August 14. As per a report by Times Of India, the schools will remain closed from Aug 14 to 17, as per instructions from the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department.
On August 14, a restricted holiday for Chehlum is being observed, August 15 is Independence Day, August 16 is Janmashtami, and August 17 is Sunday. Notably, few private schools are open today i.e. August 14.
