Oscar-winning actor Brad Pitt has purchased a Spanish-style residence in Los Angeles for $12 million, acquiring the property from musician Dave Keuning, lead guitarist of the American rock band The Killers.
The transaction was first reported by The Wall Street Journal on August 5, citing sources familiar with the sale.
The home is located in the exclusive Outpost Estates enclave within Hollywood Hills, a neighborhood long favored by high-profile entertainers, with past and present residents including Orlando Bloom and Ben Affleck. Built in 1989, the property was listed in June with an asking price of $13.999 million, according to real estate platform Zillow.
The sellers, Dave Keuning and his wife, interior designer Emilie Keuning, originally purchased the property in 2021 for approximately $9.6 million from Joel Simkhai, founder of the social networking app Grindr. The Keunings oversaw renovations during their ownership, enhancing the estate’s architectural and interior appeal.
This latest acquisition adds to Pitt’s expansive real estate portfolio, particularly in the Los Angeles area. The actor previously sold a longtime residence in LA’s Los Feliz neighborhood for $33 million in 2023. That property had served as his primary home for many years and was once shared with his former wife Angelina Jolie and their six children.
During his time in Los Feliz, Pitt gradually expanded his holdings by purchasing more than 20 neighboring properties, eventually assembling a sprawling estate. In the same year he sold that compound, he reportedly purchased a mid-century-style home in the same area for $5.5 million.
Beyond Southern California, Pitt has also invested in high-value real estate along the California coast. In 2022, he acquired a property in the Carmel Highlands area for $40 million, marking one of the highest residential sales ever recorded in the region.
In addition to his real estate activity, Pitt continues to maintain a strong presence in the film industry. He recently starred in F1: The Movie, a racing drama that has been performing well at the global box office.
