Har Ghar Tiranga: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, asking citizens to come forward and participate in the campaign. He also linked this year’s campaign with
the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, which is being commemorated through year-long programmes across the country.
Taking to X, he wrote, “Our Tricolour is our pride and a constant source of inspiration to always give our best for the nation. Let us participate enthusiastically in the #HarGharTiranga movement and renew our collective resolve to contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat. Glad that this year’s efforts are dedicated to Vande Mataram and that too at a time when we are marking its 150th anniversary.”

What Is Har Ghar Tiranga?
The campaign was launched in 2022 under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative to encourage citizens to bring the national flag into their homes and celebrate Independence Day as a people’s movement.
Over the years, the campaign has expanded to include participation from schools, villages, government institutions, self-help groups and communities across the country.
Har Ghar Tiranga: Why Is 2026 Edition Special?
The 2026 campaign coincides with the 150th anniversary celebrations of Vande Mataram. The commemoration is being conducted in phases, with the third phase scheduled from August 7 to 15, alongside Har Ghar Tiranga.
The government has planned cultural and public participation activities around the national song and the Tricolour during this period.
Har Ghar Tiranga 2026: How To Participate?
Step 1: The nationwide campaign begins on August 9.
Step 2: Citizens are encouraged to hoist or display the Tricolour at their homes and participate in campaign activities.
Step 3: People can participate in Har Ghar Tiranga-related rallies, cultural programmes and community events being organised across states.
Step 4: The campaign will run alongside the 150th anniversary commemoration of Vande Mataram, with activities including singing and cultural programmes.
Step 5: The nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign will continue until August 17.
