ABOUT
Ward No. 7C is one of the four sub-wards of Ward No. 7 of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC). The TMC has a total of 41 wards spread across Thane, representing 165 corporators. This sub-ward is reserved for General. Ward No. 7, to which this sub-ward belongs, has a total population of 58393, of which 7103 belong to the Scheduled Castes and 1399 belong to the Scheduled Tribes.
POLL DATES
The gazette notification for the TMC Ward No. 7C was issued on December 15, 2025 (Monday), the last date of scrutiny of nominations was December 31, 2025 (Wednesday) and the last date of withdrawal of nominations was January 2, 2026 (Friday). This ward voted on Thursday, January 15, 2026 and the counting of votes is happening on Friday, January 16, 2026.
LOCATION & EXTENT
The extent of Ward No. 7 of Thane Municipal Corporation as published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette is as follows: NORTH : Starting from Birsa Munda Chowk (Neelkanth Height Complex) along Pokharan road No.2 upto Nalpada MCGM water pipeline and thereafter along water pipeline upto Ghodbunder road. 4 EAST : From Nalpada MCGM pipeline at Ghodbunder Road, along Ghodbunder road upto Golden dyes junction and thereafter along Eastern express highway upto Nalla near Korum Mall. SOUTH : Along Nalla upto Rajiv Gandhi Vasahat Road and thereafter along compound wall in between Perin A1 and Shree Samrudhi building upto Nalla and thereafter along Nalla upto MCGM Pipeline. WEST : From Nalla along MCGM pipeline upto Pokharan Road No.1 and thereafter along Pokharan Road No.1 upto Shastri nagar naka Chowk and thereafter Shastri nagar naka Chowk to Prabhakar Kunte Marg and thereafter along Prabhakar Kunte Marg upto Pokharan Road No.2 (Birsa Munda Chowk).
The last Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) elections were held on February 21, 2017, in which Shiv Sena was the single largest party with 67 seats, while Nationalist Congress Party won 34 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party secured 23 seats, Indian National Congress won three seats and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen won two seats. Two Independent candidates were also elected as corporators in the election.
