Actor-director Dhanush has once again sparked rumours about a possible entry into politics after asking his fans to use their unity for public service instead of limiting themselves to film-related celebrations.
His remarks, made at a fan-organised blood donation camp, went viral, with many wondering if he was following in the footsteps of Thalapathy Vijay, who recently entered politics and became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Dhanush Asks Fans to Focus on Welfare Activities
Addressing his fans at the event, Dhanush spoke about the power of unity and urged them to make a difference in society by helping people in need. “So many people are gathered in one place. There’s a great power in this kind of unity. We need to give that unity a purpose. Beyond just audio launches and meetups, we need to engage in even more welfare activities. Understand the needs of the people in your area, the families living around you and help them in whatever way possible. Do whatever help you can for them. I need to feel even prouder of you. I believe you will do it.”
Fans Wonder If Dhanush Is the Next Actor to Enter Politics
Soon after videos from the event surfaced online, netizens began speculating that Dhanush could be preparing to enter politics, much like Thalapathy Vijay.

Dhanush Reacts To National Award Debate
During the same interaction, Dhanush also reacted to the discussion surrounding this year’s National Film Awards. The actor said that there were “definitely better” Tamil films than his directorial Raayan in 2024. At the same time, he urged people to celebrate the fact that a Tamil actor had won two National Awards in the same year.
Dhanush received a Special Mention for Captain Miller, while Raayan won the National Award for Best Tamil Film.
