Bollywood actorRanveer Singh made his big Bollywood debut with YRF’s Band Baaja Baaraat, co-starring Anushka Sharma. Years later, as the actor’s recently released film Dhurandhar has gone on to earn humongous
success, the production house has hailed the film, and Ranveer can’t be anything but grateful for the kind words.
Singh, who has been keeping a low-key profile ever since Dhurandhar’s blockbuster success, took to the Instagram comment section to thank the production house for their kind words and wrote, “My beloved Alma Mater, only ever wanted to make you proud.”
YRF Heaps Praises on Dhurandhar
YRF took to their social media account and, while applauding the film, shared, “DHURANDHAR is not a film… it’s a milestone moment in Indian cinema that will be remembered forever. Congratulations to Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios for becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of all time (in a single language).”
The production house continued and added, “As the captain of the ship, Aditya Dhar’s clarity of purpose, fearless storytelling, and unwavering commitment to excellence have set a new benchmark for Indian cinema. Ranveer Singh plays an Indian spy in Pakistan in Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar. R. Madhavan plays the Indian intelligence chief, Sanjay Dutt plays Karachi SP Chaudhary Aslam, and Akshaye Khanna plays a Pakistani mobster. As of now, Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has collected more than Rs 1247 crore at the box office worldwide. Dhurandhar 2 is expected to release on March 19.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is the first part of a two-film series. Ranveer plays Hamza, an Indian spy who infiltrates Lyari’s criminal and political underworld in Pakistan as part of a covert anti-terror mission. The story blends fiction with real geopolitical events, including the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, and the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
