The United States carried out strikes on Iranian radar installations and drone command-and-control facilities over the weekend, the US military said on Sunday.
In a statement posted on X, US Central Command
(CENTCOM) said the operation targeted sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island in Iran.
According to CENTCOM, the strikes were conducted in self-defence following the downing of a US MQ-1 drone.
“U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted self-defense strikes on Iranian radar and command and control sites for drones in Goruk, Iran and Qeshm Island this weekend,” the military command said.
CENTCOM added that the action was taken in response to the shootdown of the American drone.
