Taylor Swift’s longtime dancer and choreographer Kam Saunders shared a heartwarming moment with his mom, Kim Hamilton, in the second episode of the six-part docuseries The End of an Era, which premiered
on December 12. Fans can’t stop talking about the sweet mother-son moment.
Ahead of one of his performances at the Eras Tour, Hamilton said that even though she needed a wheelchair to get around the concert venue but she was excited to see him perform again.
“You know, my knee is doing better, and I don’t really wanna be in the wheelchair. I need it a little bit [to get me there] but I wanna dance,” she said.
She even joked about sitting in the wheelchair section while popping off to the music, saying, “I might feel like a hypocrite. I think they’ll come and take the wheelchair.”
The St Louis-born dancer and choreographer then teases her about what “popping off” means and asks, “And is that the move?” referring to the dance style she plans to show.
“Something like that. Sometimes there’s a shimmy, sometimes it’s a roll. And, a lot of times it’s your guys’ choreography, too,” she said, acknowledging that while she has her own style but she also enjoys performing the choreography created by her son and his team for Taylor Swift’s concerts.
The moment turns fun and nostalgic as Hamilton begins dancing to Swift’s 2014 hit “Shake It Off” and her 2017 track “…Ready for It?” Saunders laughs.
Saunders praises her mom’s sacrifices
Hamilton then praises Saunders and expresses how beautiful it was for her to see her son perform and be part of the tour experience. Acknowledging her mother’s sacrifices, Saunders said, “I’ve seen so many sacrifices… for us to be able to do what we’re doing and to follow those dreams with every part of us.”
He further said that he will always include her mother in his life and celebrations. He explains that while he works hard, he knows how much she has worked and sacrificed for him and his brother.
“I will never not have you in these spaces with me and celebrating with me because just as hard as I’ve worked I’m very clear and very conscious of how hard you’ve worked for us to be able to do so, which is why I try my hardest to take so much care of you,” he said.
