Actor Sai Pallavi went on Amitabh Bachchan’s show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, to promote her upcoming film, Ramayana Part 1. During her interaction with the veteran actor, he asked her about the kind of life
partner she wants. Sai Pallavi said that while her list of requirements isn’t too long, her non-negotiables are that he should be a good man and know how to cook.
Sai said, “Pehle achche insaan hone chahiye (Firstly, he should be a good man). He should not be very self-centred. He should be someone who is introspective. One who checks on his actions. So someone who has some insight about where he is in life… he can make mistakes, but he must mend them too. It should not be that he is blaming it on someone else. It is not that there is a huge list, but he should be a good person, and it would be better if he also knows how to cook!”
The actress also opened up about her first reaction to being offered Sita’s role in Ramayana. She said, “I didn’t want to use my head this time. Every time I play a character, I think, ‘What can I give to that character? ‘ but this was the first time when I thought, ‘What can I get for playing a role like that of Sita Maa? Like what knowledge will I gain from this?’ So, I wanted to keep the process transparent. I didn’t want to think about anything. I prayed to Sita Maa and went forward with it.”
The film had a grand premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 27. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the much-anticipated mythological epic, also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, has received positive early reviews, with viewers praising its scale, visual effects, emotional moments and lead performances.
Ramayana, the film, is planned as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic, with music composed by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. In India, the first instalment is scheduled to release in theatres on November 5, 2026, while the second part is expected around Diwali 2027.
