Janhvi Kapoor is super excited after receiving praise from none other than Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for her latest project, Homebound. The actress was touched by his appreciation. The Homebound makers
also thanked the actor for his praise. The film was released last month.
The actress shared Shah Rukh Khan’s tweet with a heart emoji. The makers also reshared the tweet and wrote, “King size love from the king himself, thank you #Homebound”. Many celebrities including Alia Bhatt have praised the film.

Homebound’s Storyline and Cast
Made under the direction of Neeraj Ghaywan, Homebound is headlined by Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor. The emotional drama, set in a North Indian village, revolves around two childhood friends—Shoaib (played by Ishaan Khatter) and Chandan (played by Vishal Jethwa). Facing deep-rooted discrimination, the duo sets out to become police officers to reclaim dignity and opportunity. But as time passes and the police exam results intensify uncertainty, their friendship is tested, revealing the emotional and societal struggles that shape their journey.
The film is backed by Dharma Productions, with Apoorva Mehta, Adar Poonawalla, Karan Johar and Somen Mishra serving as producers. Melita Toscan du Plantier, Marijke deSouza and acclaimed filmmaker Martin Scorsese are on board as executive producers.
Homebound made its international debut at Cannes 2025. This film marked Neeraj Ghaywan’s return to Cannes nearly 10 years after the premiere of his breakthrough film Masaan. While Homebound became India’s official entry to the Oscars, it was also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).
