Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has called for a gathering with the national flag at Central Park in Connaught Place, Delhi, on October 16, following the detention of party leaders Saurav
Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who were sent to five days of judicial custody after waving the Tricolour at Jantar Mantar.
In a video message shared on social media, Dipke appealed to people who take pride in the national flag to gather at 5 pm on October 16. He also urged those unable to travel to Delhi to organise similar gatherings in their respective cities.
“Since when has waving the Tiranga become a crime?” Dipke asked, asserting that displaying the national flag should not be treated as an offence.
Dipke Calls For Gatherings Across Cities
Urging people to join the proposed gathering, Dipke asked supporters to bring the national flag to Central Park and express solidarity with the detained party leaders.
He also appealed to people outside Delhi to hold similar gatherings in their cities at 5 pm on October 16. In his message, he described the Tricolour as a symbol of national pride and said people should be able to wave it without fear of facing legal action.
Dipke also said he was not concerned about the possibility of being arrested himself following the proposed gathering.
“I may also be sent to jail after this, but I am not worried about that. The Tricolour is my pride, and I will continue to wave it,” he said.

CJP Leaders Sent To Five Days Of Judicial Custody
Dipke’s announcement follows the detention of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka after they reached Jantar Mantar in Delhi and waved the national flag. According to the party, the leaders had reached the site despite heavy barricading and a strong security presence.
Dipke also said that other team members, including Ajinkya Shinde, had been detained.
Questioning the action against the party leaders, Dipke had earlier criticised their detention and asked whether waving the national flag had become a violation of the law.
“Since when has waving the Tricolour become a violation of the law?” he said, according to PTI.
Dipke Questions Police Action
Dipke described the detention as unjustified and criticised the action against the party members. He also questioned the suggestion that waving the national flag could be considered an anti-national act.
The proposed gathering on October 16 comes amid the controversy surrounding the detention of the CJP leaders. Dipke has urged people across the country to participate in similar gatherings and demonstrate their support for the national flag.
