Taylor Swift is the definition of “girl’s girl”, and K-pop star Rose can personally vouch for it. The BLACKPINK member recalled meeting Taylor a few years back and shared how she offered her support without
hesitation during a pivotal moment in her career. She said she met with Taylor when she was looking for a label for her solo ventures and was still learning how to protect herself.
In the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, hosted by Alex Cooper, Rose was asked about her meeting with the global pop star. “That was when I was like trying to look for a label and everything,” the 28-year-old K-pop artist shared. She added, “I was learning about how to protect myself. What does everything mean? What is it that I need? What is even catered to myself, or what is it that I want? And therefore, what do I need? I was navigating all that.”
Rose Is “Grateful” To Have Met With Taylor Swift
At that crucial juncture of her career, Rose had the opportunity to meet with Taylor. “I’m grateful enough to have met her along the way at a party that I was invited to. And she was so nice, like, you know, as she is,” she explained.
The BLACKPINK member revealed that she discussed with Taylor Swift what she was doing in the US and how she was struggling with certain things in her career. That’s when she told Rose that she could rely on her for any and every advice.
“She’s like, ask me anything. And she like pulled me aside. She’s like, ask me anything. She was like, ‘Whenever you need anything, ask me.’ And she was really, really, really helpful,” Rose told the show’s host.
When Taylor Swift Gave Her Number Without Hesitation
Rose has spoken about the bond that she developed with the Anti-Hero singer earlier too. Before she released her first full-length solo album, Rosie, in December 2024, the K-pop singer shared a piece of advice she received from Taylor. Sharing that she had reached out to her before signing a deal with Atlantic Records, Rose told i-D magazine, “I told her that I am a huge fan of hers and just had some questions. As soon as she met me, she said she would let me help me out.”
She continued, “She also gave me her number and was like ‘Let me know if you have any questions’. Who does that? Like, you’re Taylor Swift.” Mentioning that she was “drowning a little” at the moment, Rose added that she feels really grateful for Swift’s advice and her guidance on the logistics of establishing her solo career.
