Actor Urvashi Rautela once again ensured all eyes were on her as she walked the red carpet at the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. After rumours suggested that she might skip the event this year,
Urvashi stayed true to her reputation for bold and extravagant fashion with a dazzling silver couture that quickly went viral online.
Walking the red carpet for the fifth consecutive year, Urvashi chose an elaborate creation from Vietnamese designer label JoliPoli Couture.
The heavily embellished gown featured a sheer, body-contouring silhouette adorned with thousands of silver crystals, beads, and intricate stone detailing. The outfit gradually transitioned into a soft lavender-toned mesh, adding depth to the otherwise metallic look.
The ensemble also featured sweeping cape-style sheer sleeves that flowed behind her as she walked, giving the outfit a theatrical and regal touch. She accessorised the look with a dramatic maang tika-inspired headpiece decorated with a bird motif and sparkling tassels, along with oversized matching earrings that complemented the silver aesthetic.
Speaking to Brut India during the event, Urvashi expressed pride in representing India on one of the biggest international stages. She spoke about wearing a Vietnamese designer while continuing to represent her country globally.
“I am wearing this very beautiful designer from Vietnam called JoliPoli and it’s my pleasure to represent my country India at the opening ceremony Cannes Film Festival 2026,” she said.
Reflecting on her continued appearances at Cannes, the actor added, “It’s my fifth year in a row.”
Talking further about what the experience means to her, Urvashi said, “I feel very proud and I have always represented my country in the best possible manner and today as well, it’s going to be truly special because here we are and I consider that whenever I represent my country, I am more India. I love to represent my country in a very proud manner.”
