The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) draft electoral roll for Maharashtra was officially published on August 31, 2026. Under this high-level verification exercise, extensive updates have been made to the
voter lists across all 288 Assembly constituencies in the state. Because millions of names have been adjusted, shifted, or flagged in the ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate) list, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Maharashtra is urging all citizens to manually verify their listing.
HOW TO ONLINE CHECK YOUR NAME IN THE SIR E-ROLL
You can verify your details online using three official methods:
ECI National Voter Portal: Visit the Election Commission of India Electoral Search Portal. Click on “Search in Electoral Roll” and look up your registration using either your details (Name, DOB), your Mobile Number, or your EPIC (Voter ID card) number.
Voter Helpline Mobile App: Alternatively, download the official Voter Helpline App (available on iOS and Android) to search your constituency status directly on your smartphone.

HOW MANY NAMES ARE EXCLUDED?
Approximately 2.07 crore voter names have been excluded or dropped from the Maharashtra SIR draft electoral roll published on August 31, 2026. This accounts for roughly 21.14% of the state’s total previous voter base.
Mumbai witnessed the highest decline, with around 36 lakh voters missing from the draft list. The state election commission categorized these forms as “uncollectable” due to the voters being Absent, Shifted, Dead, or Duplicate (ASDD) during the door-to-door verification drive. Chief Electoral Officer S Chockalingam clarified that the reduction in real terms is closer to 1.9 crore voters. About 17 lakh entries were duplicate registrations removed from one constituency but successfully retained in another.
EXCLUDED DOES NOT MEAN PERMANENTLY DELETED
Election officials have emphasised that this omission from the draft roll is not permanent. If your name was left out, you can file a claim to have it restored.
You have until September 30, 2026, to submit Form 6 (online via the ECI Voter Service Portal or physically via your BLO) to get your name back onto the final list, which is scheduled for publication on November 4, 2026
WHAT IF YOUR NAME IS MISSING? CHECK THE ASDD LIST
If your details do not pop up in the primary 2026 draft roll, they may have been cataloged under the ASDD list. This list houses voters who were listed in previous years but have been modified or deleted under the new SIR 2026 guidelines.
- Head to the Maharashtra CEO — SIR 2026 ASDD List section on your respective district portal (Mumbai City District (link) or Mumbai Suburban District (link)).
- Search using your EPIC (Voter ID) number.
- Check the “reason/category” recorded against your name if it is on this list.
ACTIONABLE STEPS TO CORRECT OR UPDATE YOUR ENTRY
If you notice errors, or if your name has been completely left out of the SIR draft roll, you must fill out and submit the relevant Election Commission forms immediately:
Form 6: Submit this if you need a Fresh Voter Registration because your name was deleted or never added.
Form 8: Use this to update incorrect information, make Corrections, or request a replacement EPIC card.
Form 7: Fill this out to register an Objection regarding any entry.
Where to submit: These forms can be compiled digitally on the ECI Voters’ Service Portal or printed out and submitted physically to your local Booth Level Officer (BLO) or your nearby BMC Ward Election Office.
