Alia Bhatt just landed at Cannes 2026, and while her “watercolour painting” gown was a total mood, everyone is talking about what she eats for glowing skin. In a chat with Marie Claire France on May 12,
Alia didn’t talk about high-end facials but put the spotlight on something much closer to home: Ghee.
The ‘Skin Snack’ You Can Make Today
Alia swears by “beauty from within,” and she has a specific 4-ingredient treat she calls her “skin snack.”
“Ghee! We cook our food in ghee, at least in my home, and a lot of people do,” Alia said. “It’s great, it’s great for the gut, it’s great for the skin. There’s this snack that I have, it’s basically ghee with a little bit of jaggery, some crushed peanuts and a little bit of coconut. It’s a skin snack; I have it so that my skin looks great, and genuinely, it works. It really works.”
The snack clearly does its job. Alia served two major looks that had the cameras snapping. Her first look at Cannes was a custom sage-green hand-painted gown by Yash Patil. She looked like a literal painting walking down the French Riviera. And for the opening night, Alia Bhatt opted for a vibrant coral-peach dress by Tamara Ralph with a trailing scarf (aka dupatta) that was a hit with fans.
Why Is Ghee Great For Skin And Gut
Ghee is basically “liquid gold” for your skin. Because it’s packed with short-chain fatty acids and essential vitamins like A, D, and E, it works from the inside out to deeply hydrate your cells and repair the skin barrier. Unlike topical oils that just sit on the surface, consuming ghee helps lubricate the gut—and as any facialist will tell you, a healthy gut is the real secret to a clear, “lit-from-within” complexion. It’s the ultimate traditional hack for natural moisture and that elusive healthy glow.
