इनका नाम संतोष दास उर्फ सतुआ बाबा हैं pic.twitter.com/amHi3gHt45

Who Is Satua Baba?
Satua Baba’s real name is Santosh Tiwari, also known as Santosh Das. A native of Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh, he left his family at the age of 11 to pursue a spiritual path. He currently heads the Vishnu Swami Sampradaya in Varanasi and became the 57th Acharya of the sect in 2012. He was conferred the title of Jagadguru at Mahakumbh 2025.
During the Magh Mela, Satua Baba has reportedly been allotted the largest area for an ashram. Outside his camp, his luxury vehicles have attracted large crowds. While he is often seen wearing simple clothes inside the ashram, his expensive sunglasses and cars stand out.
The young saint has also been in the news for recent incidents, including a visit by Prayagraj District Magistrate Manish Verma to his ashram, which later prompted remarks from Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. Satua Baba has also been seen travelling on a cart and riding a camel at the mela, accompanied by chants from followers.
Satua Baba’s Luxurious Lifestyle
During the ongoing Magh Mela, Satua Baba was allotted the largest area for his ashram. Outside his camp, his luxury Land Rover worth Rs 3 crore is parked, drawing attention from all visitors. He was earlier seen riding a Porsche Turbo 911 priced at around Rs 4.4 crore. In videos posted on his official Facebook handle, the religious leader has also ridden a camel and a tractor.
While he wears simple clothes inside the ashram, his Ray-Ban sunglasses and luxury car contrast with his simple appearance. He is often seen with Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, and their association adds to his political and social prominence.
Satua Baba Defends His Lifestyle
Responding to the controversy surrounding his lifestyle and choice of vehicles, Satua Baba told News18 Hindi that the mode of transport should not matter. He stated that people should be able to travel in any vehicle- whether a Defender, Ferrari, handcart, camel, e-rickshaw, plane or train- and focus on reaching their goal rather than on the vehicle itself.
He also hit out at his political critics, questioning their moral authority to raise objections. Satua Baba alleged that his opponents and their families have lived in luxury for years and accused them of exploiting the country while questioning others’ lifestyles.
