A chilling confession has emerged in the aftermath of a fatal murder at a café in northeast Delhi’s Maujpur. The suspect admitted to killing 24-year-old, Faizan, on Thursday night over what he described
as a personal grudge.
A video was posted on the Instagram handle of ‘moinqureshiii_’, in which the suspect claimed that he took Faizan’s life because he had hit him some months ago and denied any role by his family or friends in the killing.
“I killed Faizan over a personal grudge. My father had no role in this, nor did my family or friends have anything to do with it. I did not kill him on anyone’s say-so, and there was no money involved. He had slapped me four months ago, so I took his life,” he said in the video.
The suspect also dismissed as “lies” the claims made by Faizan’s brother that the incident was related to money.
Yesterday, Salman claimed that the suspect and his father had fought with his brother Faizan when he couldn’t repay a loan he had taken.
“He had taken a loan. When he couldn’t repay it, the father and son came to our house and started fighting. We had filed a complaint, but nothing happened. We want both the father and son to be arrested,” Salman had said.
Faizan, a resident of the Welcome area, was shot dead around 10:28 pm on Thursday at Mr King Lounge and Café in Maujpur. Seriously injured, he was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Speaking about the violence inflicted on his brother, the victim’s brother described the incident in detail, saying, “My brother was shot three times, but the police said that two magazine rounds were fired. One bullet hit him in the head and went right through. Two bullets hit him in the chest. He was also probably stabbed. He had cuts on his hands, so he must have struggled a lot,” news agency ANI reported.
Expressing his anguish and demanding prompt action, Faizan’s brother said, “We just want justice. We want both the father and son arrested, and the strictest possible action taken against them. The police say they are on the run.”
A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act, and several police teams have been deployed to apprehend the accused.
