The Mercedes G-Class has always been more than just a car; it’s a status symbol, often found in the garages of celebrities and business tycoons. But this time, the spotlight is on someone entirely different.
A video going viral on the Internet shows a farmer taking delivery of his brand-new Mercedes G-Wagen SUV, worth approximately Rs 3 crore. What makes the moment even more striking is his simplicity: he arrived at the showroom with his wife in a white Mercedes GLS, dressed in a traditional dhoti and kurta.
A Farmer’s Dream Ride Turns Heads Online
Inside the showroom, the farmer walks in and unveils his new G-Class. His wife performs a brief aarti before taking the keys. As he settles into the luxurious vehicle, he offers a prayer and then carefully explores its features, wearing a calm, contented smile. Moments later, he starts the engine and drives out of the showroom with confidence. The sight of a farmer behind the wheel of a luxury SUV has captured widespread attention online. While many praised his achievement, others criticised it for various reasons.

He revealed that his admiration for the brand began when he was just eight years old. Although he knew nothing about Mercedes cars at the time, seeing one for the first time inspired him to promise himself that he would own one someday. Many years later, in 2018, he fulfilled that childhood dream by buying his own Mercedes.
Devarajan, one of 16 siblings, received his car keys at the Mercedes showroom in Chennai. To mark the occasion, the showroom team surprised him with a special cake featuring the brand’s logo. He also took a moment to thank his wife for always supporting him.
