Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has reportedly come on board for Rajinikanth starrer Jainer 2, bringing them together on-screen for the first time in nearly four decades since Bhagwaan Dada (1986). According
to Variety India, Hrithik gave his nod to the project after weeks of discussion and is expected to film his scenes in Chennai on June 22 and 23. Ahead of the shoot, the actor will undergo a series of look tests, with the team crafting a completely fresh look for his character.
Hrithik Roshan’s Cameo In Jailer 2
According to the Variety India report, Hrithik’s portions will be mounted on a large scale, and he will be seen in a high-octane role that is sure to be a treat for his fans. The cameo is particularly significant given the history shared by the two stars. Hrithik made his acting debut as a child artist in Bhagwaan Dada, where he portrayed the foster son of Rajinikanth’s character. Over the years, the actor has often spoken about his admiration for the veteran superstar and his wish to collaborate with him again.
Much like its predecessor, the sequel of Jailer is expected to feature several high-profile cameos from across the Indian film industry. Hrithik’s inclusion reportedly joins an impressive lineup of cameos featuring names such as Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi and Mithun Chakraborty, adding to the film’s star-studded appeal.
In April, Rajinikanth wrapped up the shoot for Jailer 2, marking a major milestone for the project. The makers celebrated the occasion with a cake-cutting ceremony that brought together the cast and crew. Photos and videos from the wrap-up celebration went viral. Taking to their Instagram handle, Sun Pictures shared a series of photos featuring celebrating the moment with a cake-cutting ceremony. “Alapparai Kelappurom, Thalaivaru Nerandharam! It’s a wrap for #Jailer2,” read the caption.
Helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar and backed by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 also features SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan and Yogi Babu in important roles. As per reports, film is eyeing a theatrical release in September 2026.
