Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has added another milestone to his global journey. The Los Angeles City Council has officially declared January 6, 2027, as “Diljit Dosanjh Day”, recognising his contribution
to taking Punjabi music to audiences around the world and promoting South Asian culture in mainstream American entertainment.
Diljit himself shared the special moment with fans through a video on Instagram. The honour, introduced by Los Angeles Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez, marked yet another achievement for the singer, who has steadily built a global fan base over the years.

Sharing the video, Diljit captioned the post, “Diljit Dosanjh day in LA.” He added, “The Los Angeles City Council has officially adopted a civic resolution declaring January 6, 2027, as “Diljit Dosanjh Day”.”
“Introduced by Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez, the resolution honors the Indian-born singer, actor, and producer for his significant contributions to globalizing Punjabi music and promoting South Asian representation in mainstream American culture,” he wrote.
The clip showed Diljit receiving a framed resolution from a woman during a private gathering. Dressed in a white kurta and pink salwar with his signature turban, the singer appeared emotional and folded his hands in gratitude.

Soon after the post was shared, fans filled the comments section with congratulatory messages.
