Kiara Advani was last seen in War 2, the high-profile action film directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film, a part of the YRF spy universe, stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in lead roles, with Kiara playing a key
part. Among all the action set-pieces and star power, one moment that drew massive attention even before the film’s release was Kiara’s bikini scene, which quickly became one of the most talked-about visuals from War 2. The shot sparked online chatter and headlines, but for Kiara, the memory of filming it now carries a very different meaning.
In an interview with Vogue, the actor opened up about what went into preparing for that scene and how her perspective has shifted since becoming a mother. She recalled that preparing for the widely discussed War 2 bikini shot demanded “immense discipline”, only for the film to finally release after she had given birth, when her body looked completely different.
Kiara, who recently welcomed a daughter with her husband Sidharth Malhotra, admitted that the contrast was difficult to process at first. “After delivery, a part of me thought, ‘I’ve done this before, I’ll do it again.’ Then I realised it’s not about having the best body.”
Motherhood, she said, has completely changed how she looks at her body and herself. The pressure to bounce back or match a previous version no longer feels important. Losing a kilo here or there now feels irrelevant compared to creating a life. Reflecting on the shift, Kiara added, “When I look at my body, I think, ‘Wow, you created a human.’ Nothing compares. Now, whatever shape or size I am in, I will always respect my body. You have to respect what your body can do for you.”
Kiara and Sidharth had announced the pregnancy earlier in 2025 with a joint social media post showing their hands holding baby socks, captioned, ‘The greatest gift of our life. Coming soon.’ Kiara had kept her pregnancy very private, rarely showcasing her baby bump in public and choosing to maintain a discreet presence during her term.
