Bobby Deol, who has been on an impressive professional streak since Aashram, continues to win hearts with his performances. The actor recently appeared in The Ba***ds of Bollywood, directed by Aryan Khan,
and has once again earned widespread acclaim. As Bobby celebrates three decades in the industry, he opened up about personal growth, sobriety, and the newfound balance in his life.
In a chat with Bombay Times, Bobby shared that he has completely given up alcohol and it has changed his life for the better. “Yes, I have, and it has really helped me. Everyone is genetically different, and no one realises how any kind of intoxication can affect you. And some people have those genes where you get addicted to things,” he explained.
Calling this change a deeply personal decision, the actor added, “You don’t get these kinds of chances in life. The voice has to come from within. I think I’m a better person after I stopped drinking, and I think my relationship has become a hundred times better with everyone I know.”
‘Aryan Is A Taskmaster And Perfectionist’
Bobby also praised Aryan Khan, who directed him in The Ba***ds of Bollywood. He described Aryan as a talented, focused, and disciplined filmmaker. “It was like my own son telling me, ‘I want this, I want you to do it this way.’ If The Ba***ds of Bollywood is what it is, it’s because of Aryan. He’s proved it to the world,” Bobby said.
The actor further admired Aryan’s courage to step out of his superstar father Shah Rukh Khan’s shadow and establish his own identity. “With the pressure he was under, to have the guts to step out and have his own voice as a director — hats off to him. I feel so proud of him!” he concluded.
