Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD), starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar, was released in theatres on July 15, 2011. As the film completed 15 years, the actors took a trip down memory lane
and shared posts looking back at memories from the film’s shoot. Hrithik Roshan penned a heartfelt note recalling how his character Arjun allowed him to channel a conundrum he was dealing with in real life. He also thanked director Zoya Akhtar, as well as his co-stars, and said that the team’s biggest achievement was having fun while making a film that continues to inspire audiences.
Hrithik Roshan Celebrates 15 Years Of ZNMD
“15 years of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. A film and a journey that continues to amaze me. Arjun was a character who allowed me to channel on screen a conundrum I was dealing with in real life,” wrote Hrithik.
He then praised Zoya Akhtar for letting the actor in him run free while shooting for the film. “As we got closer to shooting, across many conversations with Zoya, I found a director and collaborator who let the actor in me run free. The confidence she had in her process was unshakable, and it allowed her to liberate all of us artists on set. We were a bunch of fools having fun, and in hindsight, creating something meaningful in the process. Thank you, Zo, for allowing us to be fools,” he wrote.
Hrithik Roshan Thanks ZNMD Co-Stars
“Today, when I look back at the journey of filming, just as Arjun found freedom in embracing his true self, so did I. It was a deeply transformative and cathartic experience. One that perhaps cannot be replicated without the right people around. Here is to my precious co-stars Abhay, Farhan, Katrina, Kalki, and to the incredible team of Ritesh, Zoya, Reema, Javed uncle, Carlos, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Bosco Caesar, Vaibhavi & the brilliant technical team, and crew. Together, we created a film that continues to speak to audiences even 15 years later,” wrote Hrithik.
Lastly, he mentioned that the entire team had so much fun while shooting for the film. “We did this. And most importantly, we had fun while doing it! Thank you, universe, for the opportunity to be a part of this magical film.”
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2: Is a Sequel on the Cards?
Meanwhile, there may be some good news for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara fans! Earlier this year, a Mid-Day report claimed that filmmaker Zoya Akhtar has locked the first draft of the sequel—Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2.
According to the report, the film is expected to reunite the original trio—Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, and Abhay Deol—with the story following their characters in their 40s as they navigate mid-life, changing friendships, and unfinished dreams. Discussions with the three actors are reportedly underway, although the project will depend on their schedules. If all goes as planned, filming is expected to begin later this year after Zoya wraps up Dahaad 2.
