After Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty impressed the audience with Cocktail in 2012, director Homi Adajania is returning with its sequel. Cocktail 2 will star Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon
and Rashmika Mandanna. It is one of the most awaited films of 2026. Earlier, it was reported that the second instalment may be released around October 2026. But Shahid has put an end to the speculations and officially announced the release date. A while ago, he took to social media and surprised his fans with the same.
Cocktail 2 gets a release date
On March 13, Shahid shared a picture of himself, which appears to be from the film, and announced the release date. The film will hit theatres on 19th June 2026. Along with the release date, the actor even informed his fans that the first look of Cocktail 2, most probably the teaser, will be launched on March 18 in theatres. It will be attached to Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2, which is the most-anticipated film of the year.
The text on the picture read, “First look this Wednesday. Only in theatres. Cocktail 2 releasing in cinemas worldwide 19th June 2026.” Along with the photo, he wrote in his caption, “For more info, make your way to the theatres this Wednesday, March 18.” Shahid looks all things suave in a printed shirt while sitting in a car and donning sunglasses. Have a look:
Soon after he shared the announcement, fans went gaga over his post. One fan wrote, “Shahid Kapoor era back.” Another fan wrote, “You Looking Extraordinary And Handsome big brother.” One of the comments also read, “Ab Ranveer Singh ki movie me attach hoga.” Another comment also read, “Yesss! This is what we want from Bollywood. A light hearted rom com. Enough with deshbhakti and agenda movies.”
According to the reports, the plot explores contemporary relationships with a bold twist, where Kriti and Rashmika may play a couple, with Shahid as the third angle. However, the makers are yet to officially talk about the same.
Meanwhile, Shahid was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’Romeo alongside Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary. His performance impressed the audience, as it reminded them of his Udta Punjab character, due to his character’s raw energy.
