If this were a rivalry, we’d call it the West-India derby. However, so far in the IPL, the Gujarat Titans (GT) have dominated the Rajasthan Royals (RR), winning six of the eight matches, and the matches have been
mostly pleasant.
RR have a good chance to dent the record this year when they host the Titans at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. The team is in good form after brushing aside an unsuspecting Chennai Super Kings in the campaign opener, while the Titans’ batting unit looked sub-par against the Punjab Kings.
There’s also the psychological factor: the Titans had one of the best bowling attacks in IPL 2025, and RR opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hit a record-shattering 35-ball century against them. This year, the 15-year-old has already started the season with another impressive 15-ball fifty and would be smelling blood.
