Thomas firmly at the centre of the story. If reports are to be believed, Lokah Chapter 2 is gearing up for a late 2026 shoot, with the makers targeting a festive release in 2027.
According to industry trackers and online reports, Lokah Chapter 2, featuring Tovino Thomas as Chathan, may begin filming towards the end of 2026. The team is also said to be eyeing an Onam 2027 theatrical release, following the strong box-office response to Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, which released in August 2025 and emerged as a major festive hit.
While there has been no official announcement yet, reports suggest that the sequel will focus entirely on Chathan, also known as Michael — the character briefly introduced through Tovino’s cameo in the first chapter. Despite limited details being confirmed, the project has already generated considerable excitement among fans of the franchise.
As per available information, the screenplay for the second chapter is being co-written by director Dominic Arun and actress-writer Santhy Balachandran. However, both Dominic Arun and producer Dulquer Salmaan have so far refrained from confirming the filming schedule or locking a release date.
Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra starred Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen, and laid the foundation for the franchise’s expansive universe. The sequel is expected to shift the narrative focus entirely, charting Chathan’s journey and expanding the mythology introduced earlier. If plans fall into place, the makers are likely to stick with the Onam release window that proved successful for the first film.
Directed by Dominic Arun, Lokah is envisioned as a five-part superhero franchise. The first chapter revolved around Chandra, also known as Neeli, while the second will centre on Michael. Another upcoming instalment is expected to spotlight Charlie, the Odiyan, played by Dulquer Salmaan. Details about the remaining chapters and lead characters are still under wraps.
Reports also indicate that Mammootty will be part of the franchise as Moothon, the elder, making Lokah the first film series to bring Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan together on screen. A teaser for Lokah Chapter 2, featuring Tovino Thomas and Dulquer Salmaan, was released in October 2025, offering a glimpse into the next phase of the ambitious universe.
