Swapnil Nila said that a few individuals, who were not travelling on the train, were injured while trespassing on the railway tracks.

“This is false. No passenger fell from the train. It was a case of trespassing,” the CPRO clarified, urging the public not to spread misinformation.
He told news agency ANI that the trio was under the influence of alcohol under the tragedy unfolded.
The Railways official said the injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where two were declared dead. The third, identified as Jimal Shyamji, survived and later told authorities that they were labourers from Malegaon who had travelled to Nashik after visiting Shirdi. After consuming alcohol, they attempted to cross the tracks when two trains approached from opposite directions, striking them, Nila said.
Officials added that the group originally hailed from Dahod in Gujarat and worked as construction labourers in Malegaon.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has initiated an investigation into the incident.
Both the Central Railway and the Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) Fact Check handle urged people to verify information before sharing. The PIB stated, “The concerned persons were not on board the train. This incident was of trespassing (illegal entry) between Nashik and Odha,” it said.
