French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday strongly condemned the November 9 Red Fort suicide blast in New Delhi and the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Jammu & Kashmir, while reaffirming France’s support
for India’s right to defend itself against terrorism.
In a joint statement released after talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, both leaders expressed “unequivocal and strong” condemnation of terrorism and violent extremism in all forms, including cross-border attacks.
“The leaders reiterated their commitment to cooperate in the fight against terrorists and terrorist groups and their affiliates including those listed by the UN Security Council 1267 Sanctions Committee.” the statement said.
They called on all countries to continue efforts to eliminate terrorist safe havens, disrupt terror networks, and cut off financing of terrorism, in line with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) guidelines.
