Prabhas’ upcoming film with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Spirit, has been in the headlines, so much so that moviegoers are eagerly awaiting its release. The update has it that the movie, which was earlier scheduled
for a March 2027 release, will now hit theatres on Diwali 2027. Does that mean that Prabhas’ film will clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana Part 2? While it looks like so, there is a twist.
Amid the potential clash, Bollywood Hungama has reported that Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana Part 2 may face a delay and aim for a 2028 release instead. Aware of that fact, the Animal star reached out to his close friend Sandeep Reddy Vanga to help him figure out a better release date for his film, Spirit.
“The minute Vanga got the news of the delay, he made a quick decision to arrive on Diwali 2027 before anyone else took the date. Bhushan Kumar was in agreement, as he always is with Vanga, and the two people announced the date,” a source revealed, justifying Vanga’s Diwali 2027 release for Spirit.
Meanwhile, there is no official confirmation about the postponement of Ramayana Part 2. As of now, the makers of the film haven’t provided any such major update to moviegoers. Reports suggest that the makers of the film plan to announce the new development through the post-credit scene of Ramayana Part 1, which is scheduled to release in theatres on November 5.
ABOUT RAMAYANA
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast of the film also includes Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, alongside several other actors.
The two-part adaptation of the Indian epic is scheduled to release worldwide on November 5, 2026, with its second instalment currently planned for Diwali 2027.
ABOUT SPIRIT
Spirit is being mounted as an action drama, with Prabhas playing a police officer. Triptii Dimri stars opposite him, while Vivek Oberoi and Prakash Raj are also part of the cast.
Vanga had earlier said that the team had completed a 40-day shooting schedule and still had around 65 days of filming left at that stage. At the time, he had maintained that the film was on track for its earlier March 2027 release.
The newly announced Diwali date gives the makers a substantially longer runway before release.
