away from landing in Dubai when authorities abruptly closed UAE airspace following reports of fresh missile attacks in the region. The incident comes amid the rapidly evolving security situation in the Middle East, following a fresh escalation involving Iran and the United Arab Emirates. As a result of the sudden closure, Patel’s flight was diverted to Muscat, leaving passengers waiting for further updates.
Ameesha Patel’s Flight Diverted As Middle East Tensions Soar
Ameesha Patel took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the update. She wrote, “On my way back to MUMBAI from NEW YORK on Emirates! As we were about to land in DUBAI the airspace closed in UAE due to fresh missile Attacks! We have now been diverted to MUSCAT n are awaiting further updates!! When will this WAR end!! Praying.” She was travelling with DJ Chetas and Kunal Goomer, and a picture from the start of their journey was earlier shared by Goomer before the disruption unfolded mid-flight.

DJ Chetas also shared an update about their flight being diverted to Muscat. Meanwhile, Kunal Goomer shared a picture with Ameesha and DJ Chetas, and wrote, “24 hours from the time we left NYC and still counting hours to reach Mumbai. @djchetas @ameeshapatel9 Dubai. Endless Airport lounge time.”
The UAE came under attack on Monday after Iran allegedly launched drones and missiles toward the Gulf nation, marking the first major reported violation of the ceasefire announced and later extended on April 8. UAE authorities confirmed multiple aerial threats, with the country’s foreign ministry and defence ministry issuing a series of emergency statements as air defence systems were activated.
The attack has also disrupted regional air traffic, with several flights bound for Dubai and Sharjah placed on hold or diverted amid fears of further escalation.
Coming back to Ameesha Patel, the actress was last seen in Tauba Tera Jalwa (2024), which did not perform well commercially. Before that, she was seen in the 2023 blockbuster Gadar 2, starring alongside Sunny Deol, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, Manish Wadhwa, and Gaurav Chopra in key roles.
